About The Course

This program is specifically designed for gastroenterologists, surgeons, GI nurses, and other health care providers who treat patients with digestive diseases and who are interested in staying abreast of GI research and state-of-the-art clinical practices. A distinguished and experienced GI faculty panel will share this knowledge through presentation of selected and relevant research findings presented at Digestive Disease Week 2012, the world's largest gathering of physicians and researchers in the fields of gastroenterology, hepatology, endoscopy, and gastrointestinal surgery. Topics include the diagnosis and treatment of GI and liver diseases, evidence-based research affecting the practice of clinical gastroenterology, and new developments in GI endoscopic diagnosis and treatment.

Intended Audience

Gastroenterologists, surgeons, gastrointestinal nurses, and other health care providers who treat patients with digestive diseases.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this program,
attendees should be able to:

  • Discuss the most relevant research findings presented at Digestive Disease Week 2012
  • Define recent developments in the diagnosis and treatment of GI and liver diseases
  • Discuss evidence-based research that affects the practice of clinical gastroenterology
  • Define new developments in GI endoscopy
