Responsibilities

Serves as department/school "expert" on grants and contracts administration with substantial responsibility for managing the unit's grants and contracts program (both pre- and post-award), which encompasses multiple departments and/or divisions and centers. Sets department policies for grants and contracts, or provides policy recommendations that are generally relied upon by senior management and implemented. Ensures department staff (direct reports or others) are meeting department grant and contract policies and that grant administrative deliverables are accomplished. Monitors new federal and UW research directives, revises department procedures, and communicates the changes to administrators and faculty. Participates in strategic planning (i.e. business plans to support grants and contracts agreements.)
