Biography

​Dr. Issaka is a gastroenterologist at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and the University of Washington. She specializes in the medical and endoscopic management of digestive diseases including cancer complications that affect the gastrointestinal system.

Dr. Issaka completed her gastroenterology fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco, internal medicine residency and chief residency at Northwestern University, and medical school at the University of Michigan.
 
In addition to working with patients with digestive diseases, Dr. Issaka is a health services researcher with the Hutchinson Institute for Cancer Outcomes Research (HICOR). She obtained a Master of Advanced Studies in Clinical Research degree from the University of California, San Francisco and conducts research related to colon cancer screening, prevention, and implementation of interventions that decrease disparities and improve outcomes in colorectal cancer care.
