Biography
Dr. Kuver is director of the Gastroenterology Fellowship Program and a UW associate professor of medicine. His expertise is in general gastroenterology.

Dr. Kuver earned his M.D. at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He first came to the UW as an intern and resident in internal medicine, then completed his gastroenterology fellowship at UW. He has been at UW since the completion of his fellowship.

His clinical interests include general gastroenterology, endoscopy, colonoscopy, and capsule endoscopy. His research focuses on biliary epithelial cell biology. This includes studies on cellular and molecular processes involved in cholesterol transport, mucin secretion and carcinogenesis. This basic science work contributes to our understanding of a diverse array of disorders affecting the biliary system, such as gallstone disease, bile duct cancers and cystic fibrosis.
